| RAPID PLANNING
this
weekend. I just came home from one week of alpine skiing in Chamonix (France)
when the team called me to join them for shakedown of the new car at Gelleråsen.
To start the season as early as possible is never wrong so I set the clock
for an early start the next day. |
|
| At Gelleråsen
it was just not raining and very windy, not ideally for getting a very
good pace. Mårten and Håkan had done a few runs when I arrived
and they hade also made some adjustments to limit oversteer as well as
fixing a fuelpump not running correctly. |
| I went out
and soon noticed the car was oversteering severly. This worked out a little
while, but soon I made a 270 spin out on the grass. Not very nice but in
a way good to find the absolute limit of what is possible to do with the
car. |
 |
| The Porsche
ran like a clock, now it will be striped and soon the business begins. |
| In the afternoon
we adjusted the shock absorbers and tried to figure out a thing or two
about the car. The tyres did not seem to work very well with the wheel
angles we were running, so we still had trouble getting the rear end to
grip. The final adjustments for the day at least made the car consistent,
but corner entry speed felt way to slow. |
| We had hoped
for finding a better balance quicker, but the main thing is the car runs
solidly regarding the engine, gearbox, brakes etc. |
| Next drive
takes place at SLC Racecamp by the end of april, then we´ll run with
the right kind of tyres and then we will be able to setup the car adequatly. |
|
See you!
