| We had
the race under control this weekend, but a headlight problem mid-race
forced us to do a 30 minute pit stop to repair. It was raining all day
and the race organizers declared "Wet race" which means all lights has
to be fully functioning on the car. |

at Kinnekulle, the MV Racing Porsche ran very well. Foto J. Christensen |
| Friday practice
was sunny and dry. I ran 54,6, but I wanted to get in to the 53:s. Unfortunately
we were running on different tyres almost every session and not working
so much on the balance of the car as I would have liked. Anyway, 54,6 was
better than the current lap record for SLC Endurance so we were pretty
happy. |
| Qualifying
was wet. Althougt a lot of traffic I managed to set two ok laps early,
just to get us a qualifying time somewhere in the first tree rows, and
then Håkan who was to start the race got the rest of the session
to get used to the wet track. |
| My best lap
counted for pole position almost the whole session, but at the final laps
Morin racing put in 1.01,775 compared to my 1.02,455. Would have been nice
to get out and do a faster run to compete against that, but it was more
important for us to get the team drivers in shape for the race. |

| Qualifying,
so far so good.. Foto J. Christensen. |
| Håkan
made a solid start, ran wisely and saved some fuel. In the first stint
we dropped down almost a lap, but won it back by timing the first driver
change well. Mårten then went out and ran faster than Morin Racing
so we where in good position to challenge for a win. |
| Håkan
out a stint again, driving perfectly by the strategy and then came the
next stop. Refuelling went really fast thanks to the very good pit crew.
Mårten now picked up 1-2 seconds a lap to leading Morin Racing. We
hade appr 2 laps to up to them (appr 120 secs) but 1h 40mins to go, thats
about 90-95 laps. I would be running a bit faster than Mårten in
the final stint, so we were really starting to look good, coming on fast
in the final hour. |
| But, unfortunately,
one of the headlights went dark, and then it was just minutes before the
flag for a technical warning would come out. As we came in to fix the light,
I jumped in to the car, but then I had to sit and wait for 25-30 mins before
it was fixed. A bit frustrating..! |
| The run towards
the checkered flag was now just about damage limitation. I put in a 1.01,303,
second best laptime of the day, but the car felt a bit understeered to
be able get the real speed up. Anyway, there was not much to do and we
finished 31 laps down, in ninth position. |

| Every team
removes their worst result of the season from the points standings. I hope
this will be ours... A bit annoying to suffer a simple technical fault
when the strategy seemed to play perfectly into our hands, but that´s
racing. |
| Now, there´s
a bit of a summer break before we enter second half of the season, on august
27-28th at Ring Knutstorp. To that race we will bring a couple of
aces in our sleeves... |
| Until then;
a big thank you to the entire team, my sponsors and SLC Racing Series. |
See ya!
